Headband and elasticband

The headband.

That is an ornamental strip of coloured silk/rayon fastened to the top of the spine of a book – between bookblock and cover.

It serves to close the gap between the book block and the book spine. It also protects against dust and stress.

The elasticband.

Used to lock notebooks and to protect the contents, such as vouchers
